Our Approach

Life can be tough and confusing.  We take a holistic and spiritual approach to grief counseling, life coaching and marriage or relationship problems. We believe that unresolved personal issues can lead us away from the course we have planned for our lives.

Our Story

We are a team of licensed mental health professionals serving not only the residents of South Louisiana in person, but also offering Life Coaching, Counseling, and Energy Therapy sessions via phone and online video.

My goal is to assist you in creating more joy and happiness in your life. I will work with you on identifying and changing your energy, thought patterns, and choices...in order to have the life you desire. I also focus on the practice of being fully present in each moment, as this is an essential key in happiness. Video and phone sessions are available, making therapy and life coaching more convenient.

Our journeys are all different, however, there is a universal process we all go through during times of transformation. Engaging in therapy or life coaching helps ease the discomfort and uncertainty we often feel during times of change. Learning communication, conflict resolution, and mindfulness enhance every area of life.

My background in massage therapy, nutrition, and wellness adds to a practice dedicated to developing healthy lifestyles for individuals and families.

Profile

Janice G. Weber

PLPC, CFLE, CFCS
I enjoy working with parents, codependency (in any type of relationship), and getting free from emotional entanglement. I also work with those who have been in a relationship with a narcissist. I guide my clients on their healing journey to explore and define problems, develop goals for an improved life, and work toward realizing those goals. Learning how to relax and building a positive self-esteem are important processes in healing. I often work with those wanting help with personal crises, grief, life transitions, overcoming difficulties in relationships, and raising healthy children.

Drawing from my background as a professor and Certified Family Life Educator, I now facilitate healthy individual and family functioning in a therapeutic setting. When applicable, I utilize mind-body approaches to assist in the healing process.

I approach counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective in that patterns of thoughts and actions are explored in order to better understand problems and develop solutions. I work with adults in a variety of formats, including individually, as couples, and as families. I see clients of all backgrounds.

Do you find yourself worrying about things that you have no control over? Do you worry about something terrible happening to you or a loved one? Do you have difficulty relaxing? Do you sometimes have difficulty sleeping at night because your mind won’t stop thinking about things? These are all common symptoms of anxiety. Would you like to feel better and less anxious?

“What you think you will become” -Buddha. Our thoughts effect how we feel, which directly affect how we act. I will work with you to assist you with identifying the irrational thoughts and the source(s) of those irrational thoughts that are blocking you from getting the peace of mind that you are looking for!

Do you notice how sometimes you feel happier and more at ease around some people and not quite the same around others? I’d like to help you get to the source of what that’s all about. Again, this behavior is directly related to our thought patterns. I invite you to reach out and begin a new chapter in your journey.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults. Play therapy is my specialty and my passion. Children express their innermost thoughts, feelings, and needs through the playing process. Using this information, I help children work through their inner conflicts with confidence. Feedback from play therapy can be very helpful in assisting parents and educators to best meet a child's needs. I also work with adolescents and adults to discover their inner strengths and empower them to use those strengths.

I primarily work from a strength-based and relational approach; however, I incorporate Mindfulness-based techniques, expressive arts, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I focus on helping adolescents and adults who are experiencing relationship issues, low self-esteem, abuse and trauma, depression, and anxiety.

In play therapy, I use non-directive and directive approaches depending on your child’s goals and needs. I assist with managing ADHD, anger, behavioral concerns, oppositional defiance, anxiety, divorce, coping skills, depression, peer relationship concerns, low self-esteem, bullying, grief, and trauma.

I assist others in reaching their fullest potential. "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change." -Carl Rogers. It takes a lot of bravery to open up to another person and share your inner thoughts. However, in the process of therapy, you learn about yourself, grow, and reach your personal goals.

I consider myself a person centered therapist, pulling from multiple theories and modalities. I am a Prepare/Enrich facilitator, trained in building healthy relationships, strong marriages, and functional families. I work with preteens, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions.

My goal is to provide a comfortable and therapeutic setting where you learn to lower stress levels, face challenges with skills, improve your relationships, and experience more happiness.
