Our Story

In 2017 we joined together as a group.  We practice together to support one another as we support our clients.  We work better as a team, sharing our knowledge and experience with one another to provide the richest counseling experience we can to our clients who are striving for a better life experience.

Our Approach

We take a holistic and wellness-based approach to personal growth.  We know that resolving personal, family, and relationship issues free you up to live with more ease.  We offer you our training and expertise, to assist you in doing your own inner work which then manifests itself in outer life changes.

Our Team

We are a team of licensed mental health professionals serving not only the residents of South Louisiana in person but also offering phone or video counseling across the state.  We each have different backgrounds and expertise with a common interest in personal growth and inner peace.

Courtney Miller

Courtney Miller

MS, LPC-S, LAC; Clinical Director

Courtney’s work focuses on connection: to yourself and everything around you. Utilizing various neuropsychology, EMDR, and somatic techniques, Courtney helps teach people how to re-regulate their nervous systems. Therapeutic transformation happens when the mind, body, and spirit are energetically synchronized. Developing healthy self-awareness is one of the most important steps in healing. Courtney teaches her clients to do this by bringing to the surface and working with parts of the self that have been repressed, rejected, judged, and/or hidden. Courtney also works with people on understanding and managing their attachment styles and their relationships. Courtney works with a range of topics including trauma, codependency, anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, LGBTQIA+, and life transitions. Courtney is an advocate for self care. One of her passions is working with mental health professionals, as well as other healthcare/service providers.

Writing the story of who you are means tearing out and throwing away the pages written about you by other people. You get to choose how you want to show up in life, and that can be the scariest and most rewarding choice to make. My hope is that you courageously choose you. –Courtney Miller, MS, LPC-S, LAC

Kristin Barras

Play Therapy is Kristin’s specialty and passion. Feedback from play therapy, expressive arts, and sand play can be very helpful in assisting parents and educators to best meet a child’s needs. Children build skills and have an outlet for their emotions. Kristin also helps adolescents and adults who are experiencing relationship issues, low self-esteem, abuse and trauma, depression, and anxiety. She focuses on building strength and empowerment. She also practices EMDR with those who have experienced trauma.

Children express their innermost thoughts, feelings, and needs through the playing process. Using this information, I help children work through their inner conflicts with confidence. –Kristin Barras, MS, LPC

Allison Saltzman

Allison Saltzman

Allison’s passion is rooted in helping her clients cultivate joy and practice the art of being fully present in their lives. She has studied Jungian Psychology, holistic health, energy therapies, meditation, and spirituality. Before becoming a psychotherapist, she was a massage therapist and grew to respect the link between the physical body and inner emotions, feelings, and experiences. Now, she offers in-person and remote sessions to facilitate expansion and personal growth.

I teach people how to connect inward and move beyond thoughts, emotions, and events that happen in life. Moving beyond our conditioning allows us to experience freedom and peace, choosing what we really want in life. -Allison Saltzman MS, LPC

Tammy Matte

Tammy Matte

MA, LPC

Tammy is dedicated to enabling children to express themselves in ways that make sense to them while helping to prevent further damage as they grow into adulthood. Tammy believes that no matter what traumatic events they may have experienced, every child has an opportunity to grow into a whole and healthy adult. We all need help processing past events and emotions, and children need a specific type of help as they do not have all the benefits of time and experience to effectively express the pain, fear, and confusion they have faced. Therapeutic playrooms are a designated space where children can learn to express and understand their feelings, resolve conflicts through reenactment, and be nurtured into growth through the one-on-one attention of a warm and compassionate adult presence in the form of a trained therapist. Tammy’s first career was as an insurance agent. She then pursued her Master’s degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University. Tammy’s interest in healing from abuse and trauma creates genuine compassion, interest, and dedication to therapeutic work.

It can be a deeply frustrating challenge to understand what your child is trying to tell you when they express themselves so differently than adults. –Tammy Matte, MA, PLPC

Camille Langlinais

Camille Langlinais

MS, PLPC

Camille works with parents who want to be more successful as parents. She also works with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress reduction, addiction, codependency, and developmental disabilities. If your relationships are stressful, working on making adjustments within yourself and your interactions with others greatly improves your relationships.
Camille has enjoyed working with developmental disabilities and behavior modifications in children. Family relations is another important topic to her within her work as a counselor.

I help my clients change thoughts, behaviors, and emotions to build a better experience and quality of life –Camille Langlinais, MS, PLPC

Olivia Baker

Olivia Baker

MS, PLPC

Olivia works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. She utilizes play therapy with children since this is a modality where they can build confidence in communicating through play and working through inner conflicts and emotions. Olivia believes play and other artistic forms of expression can be helpful ways to connect with and express ourselves, regardless of age. Taking ownership of your life, incorporating new skills, and making changes can be intimidating. Change is hard, but the benefits are exponentially worth your efforts.

My goal in therapy is for each client to feel safe, heard, and know that they have the power within themselves to live a more fulfilling, confident life. –Olivia Baker, MS, PLPC

Amber May

Amber May

Counselor Intern

Amber is enthusiastic about guiding her clients toward self-love, inner strength, and a healthy mind, body, and soul, within a holistic environment. Amber believes in the healing power of nature and uses ecotherapy to influence and guide her clients. She also enjoys implementing play therapy interventions, with children and adults. In adults, she finds that play therapy interventions allow feelings just below the surface to be revealed in a meaningful and powerful way. She helps clients pursue the power of the present moment through spirituality and meditation. Amber works with various topics, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, finding the inner strength to overcome, relationships, coping skills, ADHD, women’s issues, and divorce. She welcomes children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Counseling does for the mind the same thing that exercise does for the body. When we are heard is when we begin to heal and when we heal is when we become stronger. –Amber May, Counselor Intern
